Home Remedies to Fade Stretch Marks

By Annabelle Roylance

Are there any natural remedies to fade stretch marks?

Nowadays there is more than one way to treat this frustrating skin condition. In fact there are so many different potential treatments that the choices can be overwhelming. You can opt for an over the counter cream such as Trilastin SR or Revitol Stretch Mark Prevention or you can try one of the many home remedies available.

Cosmetic surgery is still an option, but most women choose to give a topical solution a chance before they go the invasive and often expense route of a medical procedure.

As I have said before, you must have realistic expectations when using home remedy or a product you have ordered online. Please keep in mind that stretch marks are actually scars that were formed when your skin was pulled beyond its tearing point. These products are effective at what they are designed to do: fade stretch marks, but they are not miracle products that can fully “remove” them. This does not diminish their value, minimizing the appearance of stretch marks is a big breakthrough.

The best time to work to fade stretch marks is when they are first starting to appear. At this point the ingredients in home-made and store bought stretch mark creams have their best chance to be effective. And don’t overlook the positive results exercise can bring.

Cocoa butter, vitamin E and almond oil are time-honored ingredients of favorite stretch mark treatments. I have also read that vitamin K and lavender have been reported to be effective. Regardless of the best skin care products you choose, you must follow through and use it regularly and consistently. It can take several weeks before the first signs of improvement begin to show. So don’t give up and abandon a solution before its time that may have been successful to fade your stretch marks if you had only used it a little longer.

It is an unfortunate fact that many women can actually fall into a depression over their stretch marks. It is one thing to be a little embarrassed or self conscious when you are at the beach, but it can be quite serious when it goes beyond that. Thank goodness women of today truly have alternatives that can really make a difference. Remember as a mentioned above, time and patience are your best friends in the effort to fade stretch marks
